Hello, let me introduce myself as the new librarian at the S.M. Dunlap Library of Italy, Texas. I am Lou Ann Wolaver and I have been a resident of Italy for nineteen years. I have been married to Kendel Wolaver for twenty one years and we have one daughter, Whitney, who is a student at University of Texas at Arlington. Whitney is a sixth generation Italian so our family roots are deeply invested in this community. Many of you know me from my previous positions at the Italy Family Medicine clinic and the Italy and Milford Post Offices.

I have been a reader since the age of four when my love affair for books began and still continues to this day. My grandmother and mother were both voracious readers and instilled a thirst for knowledge in me as a youngster. I have had many different careers in my life, but this new chapter as a librarian is like a dream come true.

I look forward to meeting new people and increasing the patronage of the library. We offer a wide selection of books with new titles coming in monthly. There are also DVDs, music CDs and audio books available as well. We are in the process of giving the library a “facelift”, our children’s library has had a nice makeover in the past year. Library hours are Tuesday – Saturday 9:00 – 5:00, closed for lunch from 1:00 – 1:30. I am happy to be here to serve our community in any capacity that I can.
