Obituary: Barry Wilsford, 1960 — 2016

Barry Wilsford, age 55, of Italy, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 6, 2016. He was born on December 3, 1960 in Dallas, Texas to Joseph W. and Melba E. (Norman) Wilsford. Barry had been a volunteer police reserve, a member of the Italy City Council and VP of the Italy Chamber of Commerce. He had a Certificate of Ministry from Howard Payne and was a 2006 graduate Magna Cum Laude from Dallas Baptist University. He had been an ordained and licensed minister since 2002. Barry served as Minister of Outreach and Worship at Center Pointe Church in Red Oak. He worked as a self- employed barber, an investigator with Child Protective Services and Director of Social Work at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Italy. Barry loved to travel (especially on cruises) deep sea fishing and oil painting. He loved to sing, he had a beautiful voice and had begun to take guitar lessons. Barry was strong in his faith, always spoke the truth and had a generous heart. He will be truly missed by his family and friends, and he will always be in their memories and hearts.

Barry is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kathy Wilsford; three sons, Andrew Wilsford and wife Amanda, Jared Wilsford and wife Katy and Colin Wilsford; four grandchildren, Wade, Damien, Corbin and Kinslee. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Terry Wilsford.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Waxahachie Civic Center.
