Italy — What an exciting week for the Italy High School student body, alumni and all Gladiator fans! The bonfire, the parade and pep rally, the George E. Scott Memorial Scholarship Dinner, the Gladiator Regiment Marching Band’s pre-game performance and the crowning of the Homecoming Queen, Alyssa Richards, and King, Blake Vega, all culminated in a 49-2 Italy Gladiator victory over the Cross Roads Bobcats making Homecoming 2012 truly a great experience for Italy’s faithful.
Included in this article are pictures from the game and the halftime ceremony. Congratulations to all of us who have ever locked pinkies and sang the school song. We are blessed to have tireless school administrators, teachers, coaches and a devoted maintenance crew helping to create wonderful memories for our current students and maintain a level of excellence in which school alumni can continue to proudly exclaim, “I graduated from Italy High!”
Also, thanks to the City of Italy and Mayor Frank Jackson for supporting the school and encouraging the students to represent our fair city with honor and pride. There is no place like home!
