Italy — Included in this article are additional action shots from the practice match between Italy’s Lady Gladiators and the Ferris Lady Yellow Jackets. In the end, Italy won 9-0 to win their second playoff warm-up game after previously sealing up an undefeated district championship.

Against Ferris, pitcher Jaclynn Lewis sat down 12 batters on her team’s way to a shut-out. Alyssa Richards accounted for 7 of Italy 9 runs, Kelsey Nelson made two key grabs in centerfield as did Bailey Eubank at second base. Though Italy committed three errors in the infield, Lewis cleaned up any messes with her thunderous right arm along with Richards behind the plate who threw out a Ferris runner trying to steal second with shortstop Madison Washington making the tag.

Paige Westbrook at third base and Katie Byers at first base bookend Italy’s infield relying on their experience to contain the corners while Tara Wallis in left and Britney Chambers in right scarcely saw any action with Lewis on her game.
