Italy — Practice makes perfect and Italy’s JV Gladiators got plenty of it during their first two home games of the season with both Crandall and Clifton playing well. Good teams force you to improve and Italy certainly made their share of big plays during the home stretch. Some pitchers lose their way when transitioning from junior high to the high school but both Ty Windham and Levi McBride appear to have staying power which bodes well for the future of Italy Baseball.

With a quality catcher in place in John Escamilla, good chemistry within the infielders and with outfielders proving they can get the job in front of their hometown fans, the sky is the limit for Josh Ward’s bunch.

Including in this article are action photos from both games. It is still to early to gauge just how good Italy’s JV players will become once they’re playing at the varsity level. But one thing is for sure, with the fun-loving personalities in this dugout, there will never be a dull moment with this group of Gladiators!

Go Italy!
