Italy — The Italy Gladiators and the Sunnyvale Raiders played to a standoff in the first half with the score tied 14-14 at the break. Sunnyvale jumped ahead 21-14 and then spent the remainder of the contest fending off Italy’s offense that kept driving inside the Raider 20-yard line but couldn’t punch the ball across the goal line.

Quarterback Eric Carson did connect with Trevon Robertson in the end zone twice with both scoring attempts being ruled out-of-bounds by the officials.

Another nice effort by Italy doesn’t get them the win but should give them momentum heading into tonight’s home game matchup against Hubbard.

We’ll see all you Gladiator fans at Willis Field for the start of the game at 7:30 p.m.

The Gladiator Athletic Booster Club will be on hand selling merchandise and there will also be a silent auction for Andrea Hooker who recently had a heart transplant. We appreciate everyone’s support!
