Italy — The Italy Lady Gladiators are continuing to enjoy their spring break by pummeling the Avalon Lady Eagles 15-0 during a home game on Thursday. Avalon is in its first-year of restarting their softball program but currently is without their own softball field to compete on, a real advantage for all their opponents. Though sympathetic to Avalon’s learning curves, Italy is still about winning ballgames and Italy wasted no time improving their district record to 4-0 at the expense of the Lady Eagles.

Pitcher Jaclynn Lewis recorded a perfect game with 5 strikeouts, no hits and gave up no walks. The battery combination of catcher Alyssa Richards and Lewis on the mound is fun to watch and is proving to be a real problem for opposing batters.

During their first four district games, the Lady Gladiators have outscored their opponents 54 runs to 5 to establish themselves as the front runner to claim the district title. Included, are additional images from Italy’s win over Avalon, “Enjoy!”

Go Lady Gladiators!
