The annual George Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund barbecue dinner will be held Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Italy High School Cafeteria. Cost for the meal is $6 per person. The meal will be catered by Bubba’s of Ennis.

Former Superintendent George Scott started the scholarship in 1986 with his
own money. His dream of helping Italy Students attain a higher education after high school didn’t become a reality until after his death in l991. Since 1993, there have been 53 scholarhips awarded with 12 of those currently active. Tax deductible donations to honor or memorialize loved ones are received continually.
