Italy Community Recovery Night will be hosted by Italy ISD at Central Baptist Church in the Family Life Center from 5-7 p.m. on the February 8th. See the attached the flyer with more information.
If you have never been to a Wild Game Dinner…..You are in for a treat. A $25 ticket will get you all you can eat with drinks provided. Most of the food served will be different forms of Texas wild game. Keep going back and getting more of your favorite, or try samples at all of the wild dinner booths.

The public is invited to the headquarters of the Monolithic Dome Institute on Saturday, October 14th. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., many of the domes on the property will be open to tour. Entrance to the open house is free and open to families and all ages.
Because of inclement weather, the National Night Out scheduled for October 3 from 6-9 p.m. had to be cancelled and rescheduled for Saturday October 28, from 3-6 pm. We are sorry for the short notice but the rain made us do it.
With just over a week until the community wide event, requests are still coming in. If you are planning on having a garage sale next weekend, October 7, 2017 (no city permit needed) please get signed up so that your location can be included on the map that will be handed out to shoppers.
The Italy Police Department will host the annual National Night Out for 2017 at the Upchurch Field, 200 Dilworth, on Tuesday evening, October 3, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Italy Fire Department will also have their fire truck at the event. Be sure to stop by and visit with our firemen.

Its that time again as plans are underway for the 2017 Italy Main Street Market & Community Wide Garage Sale. The date has been set for Saturday, October 7, 2017. The focal point of this event will be an opportunity for community members in and around Italy (including Avalon, Forreston & Milford) to set up mini-garage sale booths in Italy’s downtown Pavilion as well as Italy citizens having garage sales at their home. It will be a great opportunity for everyone to clean out a closet or two as well as finding your next piece for that DIY Pinterest project you have been wanting to do.

The Italy Gladiator Band Booster Club is hosting the annual spaghetti dinner to kick of the Tour D’Italia this weekend. Everyone, not just cyclists, are invited to come and eat at the High School Cafeteria. Dinner starts at 5:30pm this Friday, June 16th—$6 per plate. Bring the whole family!

The Italy Christmas Festival is scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2016. Vendor booths along with other activities will be open from 10am to 2pm. The parade along Main Street will begin at noon.
IYAA Teams need your support. On Saturday, November 5th there will be a large garage sale, wiffle ball tournament and washer tournament all at Upchurch Ball Fields to help raise needed funds for the C – Team Football and B – Team Cheer to go to AT&T Stadium on Dec 11, 2016.

Stagecoach Cowboy Church, located at 356 FM 55 in Waxahachie, will host a Fall Festival and Auction on Saturday, October 29.
The public is invited to the complex of the Monolithic Dome Institute on Saturday October 15th for an open house. The Institute is located at 177 Dome Park Place, Italy, Texas 76651, and the event will last from 10 am until 4 pm. This annual event has no admission fees.
Former superintendent, George Scott’s dream of helping Italy students be able to attain a higher education after high school is evident in this dinner. He started this scholarship in 1986 by investing his own money.

You are cordially invited to attend this year’s annual Fall Festival which is scheduled for Sunday October 16, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the church grounds at 434 South Ward Street in Italy, Texas. There will be a variety of food, games, rides and music; as well as other activities for the whole family.
The Italy Community Activities Committee met on September 13, 2016 to make decisions regarding the upcoming Homecoming Parade and Italian Festival. They voted to cancel the Italian Festival scheduled for October 15, 2016 and combine it with the traditional Christmas festivities held on the first Saturday in December.

CANCELLED!!! The Battle of the Badges Softball Tournament is planned for August 20, 2016 to be held at Italy’s Unchurch Ball Park (201 E. Dilworth Street, Italy). All entry fees and proceeds will go to the Shop with a Hero Foundation.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Please help Italy High School “Back the Blue” this week in appreciation for all that our Italy Police Department does for the community.
The Cinco De Mayo fiesta celebration will be Friday, May 6th, 2016 from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. Vendor booths will be located at the Cargill-Gallman Pavilion, downtown Italy. Vendor forms for booths need to be turned in by May 2nd to get a good spot but we will still allow late comers.
Our meeting this month is on a very popular topic “Backyard Chickens”. We have so many chicken farmers! It looks like we will have a good attendance. Please feel free to bring a chair if you like. We will have some chairs and some feed bags to sit upon.
Italy Jr./Sr. High School’s Civil Air Patrol will be hosting a 5k color run on Saturday, May 21st, 2016. The monies raised for this event will go directly to the program which promotes Aerospace Education (STEM), Leadership, Self-Discipline, and Fitness.
It’s time for the 27th Annual Ellis County Youth Expo! This year, the week of April 4-9, students from Ellis County will have the opportunity to put on display what hard work and dedication truly mean. Students from FFA, 4-H and FCCLA have been planning and preparing their projects for this important week for over a year, in some cases. Each of the exhibitors you will see this week, whether from the Creative Arts, Ag. Mechanics or the Livestock division have great pride and honor in the product they will present.
Union Missionary Baptist Church of Italy’s Union Women at Work (UWAW) hosted their 2016 Chili Cookoff with church member Marilyn Kelly named the winner. Patricia Price won 2nd place and Willie Young took 3rd place.
