Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at the Italy High School Dome

The Italy Gladiators Bass Club invites all ages of anglers who are registered students of Italy ISD to compete in their 1st Annual Land Tournament on Monday, April 16, which is a no school day. The tournament will begin at dawn with first cast at 7am and last cast at 11:30 am. Fishing will be from banks only (no boats) on any body of water they choose.

Next week, your child will be participating in one or more of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test and End-Of-Course (EOC) standardized tests.

The Carter Blood Drive will again be at the Italy High School on Thursday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the high school parking lot next to the George Scott Gymnasium.

The Italy High School junior class knows that everyone needs a break from the kitchen, so they’d like to ask you to go to Chili’s in Waxahachie on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, between the hours of 10:45 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. to support their class efforts in raising money for this year’s prom. They are located at 998 W. US HW 287 Bypass.

Thursday, March 1st was a fun day for some of our local basketball players. Our school’s Special Olympics team represented Italy well at Cedar Hill High School. Players receiving accolades include:

It is common for people to experience a change in their sleeping patterns in the days and weeks following a disturbing event. Our brains are overstimulated with thoughts, making it difficult to wind down at the end of the day. After doing some research, sleep experts have recommended the following helpful tips for adults and children.

Frost ISD is asking that all of their fans wear Black and White this evening to the basketball games in Italy. This is the the Frost students’ and fans’ way of showing their support for Italy in wake of the recent events.
Italy ISD would like all Italy fans attending the games this evening to also wear the Black and White but to include Gold as well. This will show unity and support for all the students.

Arely Salazar, Italy High School’s FCCLA Advocacy competing team, will be hosting her 2nd Annual Clothes Drive! Last year’s team, which also included Brooke DeBorde, collected 1,200 pounds of clothing!

Congratulations to these students who have excelled to the level of Italy High School/Junior High School A Honor Roll and A/B Honor Roll for the 3rd six-weeks of this school year.

The second six-weeks honor roll has been released by the Italy High School/Junior High School. Congratulations to these students and their teachers for their hard work.

This past Saturday, October 14th, one of our local Italy HS students participated in a Ride of Champions at Campfire Creek Therapeutic Riding Center in Waxahachie, Texas.

All seniors and their families should join us on Thursday, October 19 at 6:30pm to complete and ask questions about the financial aid process for post-secondary programs.

The Italy HS Cheerleaders will be selling BBQ at Thursday night’s Powder Puff game (Thursday, October 5). Plates will be $7 each.

Two Italy High School students were among some of the first to receive acceptance letters to a post-secondary school.

With high school scholarship opportunities and bass tournament trails spreading like wildfire through Texas, several Italy High School students with a passion for fishing have decided to start a Bass Club at Italy ISD.

Shopping begins at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday and will be available throughout the school day through 4 p.m. The fair will close at noon on Friday, September 22, 2017.

Friday, September 15 is Italy ISD’s Homecoming game against Blooming Grove. Kick off is at 7:30.

Due to ongoing construction at the new football field the High School and Junior High will be changing the date and location of Meet The Teacher.

The National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society invite you to the annual induction ceremony on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 5:30 pm at the Italy High School Dome. Admission is one non-perishable food item per person.

The community is invited to the IMA’s Baccalaureate Service for the 2017 Graduates of Italy High School on Sunday, May 21, 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church (200 Clark Street, Italy). The graduating seniors will be honored with an inspirational service and reception following the service.

On May 11th at 2:30 p.m. at Italy ISD High School, Students with Perfect Attendance can Strive To Drive! One lucky student will win a FREE CAR!

The Italy High School theater department will present George Kelly’s comedic drama, “Finders Keepers” this Friday, March 24 at 2:45pm in the high school gymnasium. The play tells the story of a woman who finds a purse with a large sum of cash in it and the ensuing moral quandary.

Claudia Abundiz Jimenez, a sophomore at Italy High School, spent much of her time over spring break at The Warehouse Dallas. The Warehouse houses a contemporary art collection spanning from post World War II to present day and hosts student workshops for those students interested in pursuing some type of career in art.

Another windy afternoon. I took a short flight over the new field, but the wind kept me from big fly overs. I may try again in the morning.

Italy Middle School’s 2nd annual book fair kicks off today. Students are welcome to shop between the hours of 7:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. each day through Thursday. The fair will open at at the same time on Friday, December 2, 2016, but will pack up on Friday at noon.

Just a friendly reminder that Josten’s will be at the High School Cafeteria on Wednesday November 16th from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm to take order’s for Senior Packets (this includes cap and gown).

Jostens was not able to meet with the Jr. Class this week as originally planned. We have them rescheduled to come Tuesday, November 1st to distribute the packets for class rings.

Mrs. Chambers is collecting baby pictures of each member of the senior class for the slide show. You may turn them in to Mrs. Ballard at the high school and they will be scanned and returned , or you may email them to [email protected]. The deadline to submit pictures will be Friday, October 21st.

Josten’s will be at the High School Cafeteria on Wednesday November 16th from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm to take order’s for Senior Packets (this includes cap and gown). Your student will have a senior packet sent home with them on Tuesday November 8th with the order forms.
