The National Junior Honor Society and National Honor Society invite you to the annual induction ceremony on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 5:30 pm at the Italy High School Dome. Admission is one non-perishable food item per person.

Italy Middle School’s 2nd annual book fair kicks off today. Students are welcome to shop between the hours of 7:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. each day through Thursday. The fair will open at at the same time on Friday, December 2, 2016, but will pack up on Friday at noon.
Honor Roll lists have been released from Italy High School and Italy Junior High School for the 2nd Six-Weeks.
Italy middle school students’ parents may choose to order supplies this year to avoid the lines and aisles of school supplies in major retail stores. Educational Products Inc. offers these supplies for parents/students at discounted rates. Forms for 6th-8th graders will be sent home today. Order deadline June 17th, 2016.

Italy JH Awards 5-13-15 at 1:30 p.m. in the dome
Youth for Human Rights provides educators with curriculum covering the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Recently two Italy 8th grade students in Mr. Guidry’s class, Wesley Helms and Mikey South, completed the curriculum and received certificates for their accomplishments.
The 8th grade science class had the opportunity to link up with the International Space Station last week. The students were able to send photo requests during certain orbits to the astronauts. The students were studying weather so they were using a real time weather map while pin-pointing coordinates on the globe and requesting a photo from the ISS of the location. The students had a total of 250 photos taken.
Hats off to the following Italy High School students. These 120 students are part of the 2014-2015 Academic Honor Roll List for the 2nd six weeks. (This is an increase from the previous grading period!) Congratulations to these students as well as their parents, teachers and administration. It takes a village!
This next Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at 5:30 p.m., the qualifying students for this year’s NJHS will be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. These students have shown scholarship, leadership, character, and service, and through an application process, have been selected by a faculty panel for membership.

Italy Junior High students were honored by administration and teachers. The Margaret Oliphant Cup was awarded to Chris Munoz.
The math department at Italy High School has put together a MATH BLITZ for the all the 8th graders, a a four-day tutorial session to help students prepare for their upcoming STAAR Test.
The First day of Italy Junior High School’s Math Blitz to get the 8th graders ready for the STAAR test was a awesome success. Students had a lot of fun and got their learn on. All IJHS 8th graders are more than welcome to attend on Wednesday, March 26th from 3-5 pm and on Thursday, March 27th from 3-5pm as well.
The junior class of Italy High School sponsored the 2014 Italy Junior High Valentines Dance as a prom fundraiser on Saturday inside George E. Scott Coliseum.
On February 7th, 2014 the Italy High School Art Department held their Spring Water Color Contest.
The IHS Junior class will sponsor a Valentines Dance for 6th, 7th and 8th grade Italy ISD students. The dance will be held at the old IHS gym on Saturday, February 15th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. There will be a DJ and concessions.
During the week of January 13th, students at Italy Junior High School and Italy High School will take final exams for their classes. The schedule is as follows:
Italy High School/Junior High School students from 7th to 12th will hear a presentation by speaker Steven Adair on Friday, October 25. This presentation will culminate the week long drug awareness campaign celebrated by the students. Adair’s presentation titled, “Hello, My Name Is,” is designed to challenge the students to evaluate themselves and the way they treat others around them — to live a life without labels.
Sixteen Italy Junior High students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)Tuesday night during a student led ceremony at the high school.
Italy High School principal, Lee Joffre, has released the school supply lists for the high school and junior high school campus. The staff at this campus has compiled this list as a convenience for the families and all are looking forward to a great year.

The Italy High School and Junior High have released their “A” and “A/B” Honor Roll lists for the sixth six-weeks of the 2012-2013 school year.
The 2013 Italy Junior Awards Ceremony proved to be an assembly line of award presentations as students are recognized one after another, after another for their overall achievements.
The Italy Junior High was able to include a Science Fair for an activity this year. The Science Fair was held in the dome and was hosted by Lindsey Thompson, Junior High Science teacher, and Catherine Hewett, 8th grade Science teacher, Biology and IPC (integrated physics and chemistry). With these two teachers, plans are to get the students excited about science and have fun learning.
The Italy High School freshman class will be sponsoring a Halloween Dance for 6th through 8th grade students of Italy Junior High and Stafford Elementary. The dance will be held on Saturday, October 27 from 8:00pm to 11:00pm in the old gym at the Italy High School campus.

Lee Joffre, Italy High School principal, would like to remind everyone of Meet the Teacher Night at the high school. The event will begin at 5:30 PM in the band hall and is for all 7th grade through 12th grade students and their parents.

It’s 100º plus outside and the streets are scorching. Swimming and playing are things on the minds of IHS students, as well it should be. However, when August rolls around, school should be uppermost on the minds of students. Luckily we have someone looking out for our kids’ future and serious minded about it.
After a long day of chants, cheers, leaps and mascot skits the results have been posted announcing the 2012-2013 IHS/IJHS cheer squads.
Italy High School principal Lee Joffre has announced the STAAR/TAKS testing schedules for the junior high and high students for the week of April 23 thru April 27. To give each group of students the optimal testing environment several students will have late arrival schedules during this testing week.
The Italy Junior High Band won sweepstakes at the UIL Region 8 Middle School North Zone Concert and Sight Reading Contest held recently in Waco.

Italy Junior High Boys and Girls track teams gave it their all at the recent Itasca Jr High Track Meet. They ran with passion and had some incredible finishes. Participating schools in the event were Italy, Itasca, Rice, Blum, Dawson and Maypearl. Coached by Jeff and Heather Richters, the Gladiators took the track by storm.
Last Thursday evening was a celebration of hard work and determination for students of Italy Junior High School as fifteen 8th grade students were sworn in as members of the National Junior Honor Society-Italy Chapter. Their induction is just a stepping stone of things to come for these students.
Several Italy students were recognized at a school board meeting Monday evening.
Italy High School/Junior High School has announced that there will be a special schedule next Wednesday for some of the students. This is due to ELA (English, Language Arts) Exit Level TAKS testing for the juniors and the ELA TAKS test for the sophomores. As a result the 7th and 8th graders, the freshmen as well as the seniors will be allowed to sleep in that day
The Italy High School junior class hosted the 2012 Junior High Valentine’s Dance, Saturday, February 11th in the George E. Scott Gym.
