Italy Junior High 8th grade science class and the International Space Station
The 8th grade science class had the opportunity to link up with the International Space Station last week. The students were able to send photo requests during certain orbits to the astronauts. The students were studying weather so they were using a real time weather map while pin-pointing coordinates on the globe and requesting a photo from the ISS of the location. The students had a total of 250 photos taken.
The students worked hard on this project. Mr. Guidry stated that he is very proud of their hard work.
For anyone interested, the ISS will be flying over us twice tonight at 6:18 and 7:53. The first pass will be in the SE sky and the second to the NW. You can see it with the naked eye. Just look for the big bright dot traveling 17,000 mph across the horizon.
