Italy — The Junior class of Italy High School sponsored the 2014 Italy Junior High Valentines Dance as a prom fundraiser on Saturday inside the George E. Scott Coliseum.

Former school board member Jon Mathers donated his DJ services for the cause and provided an amazing lazer light show and even a smoke machine. The setting was topped off with strings of lights and balloons as students and guests danced the night away.

There was couples dancing, group dancing, line dancing and even a couple of air guitarists were spotted with Anthony Lusk, Jr., and Colby Hampton not missing any invisible notes. Brennon Sigler collected the most glow necklaces. And it would not be a dance without Zac Mercer who never misses a chance to hit the dance floor or patio.

Junior Jaclynn Lewis joined in on the dancing fun with Josh Zapletal of Ennis as did fellow junior classmate Bailey Eubank with her dance partner, Ty Mitchell of Palmer. Sisters Rori Russell and Tia Russell shared a dance as did besties Karson Holley and Karley Nelson. Alex Jones never missed a chance cut the mat nor did Aliyah Turner who kept the happiest of smiles throughout the entire evening.

Cason Roberts did the heavy lifting for his buds Matthew Monreal and Ryder Itson. Anthony Lusk, Jr., seemed to be in his element as were Adam Powell. Rachel Huskins and Kristen Viator. Virginia Stephens and Keondra Jackson hit the dance floor as did juniors Kyle Fortenberry, Madison Washington and John Byers.

Basically, it was just a bunch of great kids with big hearts enjoying the chance to get out there and show off their best dance moves for Valentines.
