Each year several exemplary students are recognized for their service in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society both exist to encourage students to excel in all areas of their lives—academically and within their communities.

Sponsors from both groups plan service projects throughout the year that allow students to participate and fulfill their commitments to the group.

Some of this year’s service projects for both groups include stocking the local food pantry, putting together teacher appreciation bags for Stafford and IHS, stuffing toiletry bags for Trinity Mission residents during the holiday season, and bringing items for a sandwich station and desserts when IHS hosted UIL and provided a hospitality room.

Students may also choose to fulfill their hours of service, with sponsor approval, through individual projects in which they’ve participated.

Striving academically and serving their communities, these students are developing strong, positive characteristics which will promote great success throughout their lives.

We are excited to invite you to this year’s induction Sunday, May 22, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. in the IHS dome and hope you’ll support these students as they continue to represent our school and community well.
