The Community Activities Committee is seeking Board members and Volunteers to help so we may continue having Festivals and Events in The City of Italy. We currently do not have enough members or volunteers to have the upcoming Christmas event.

The Italy Community Activities Committee met on September 13, 2016 to make decisions regarding the upcoming Homecoming Parade and Italian Festival. They voted to cancel the Italian Festival scheduled for October 15, 2016 and combine it with the traditional Christmas festivities held on the first Saturday in December.

Spread the word! Tell your friends! Italy’s 2016 Main Street Market and Community Wide Garage Sale is the place to be on Saturday, August 6. With over 15 vendors in the downtown pavilion and more than 15 garage sales out in the community, there is surely something for everyone!
The sign-ups for the 2016 Italy Main Street Market and Community Wide Garage Sale on August 6, 2016 are in full swing. To-date we have 26 families signed up to either have a garage sale at their home (within the city limits of Italy) or set up a booth in the downtown area (in and around the Pavilion). The Cinco De Mayo fiesta celebration will be Friday, May 6th, 2016 from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. Vendor booths will be located at the Cargill-Gallman Pavilion, downtown Italy. Vendor forms for booths need to be turned in by May 2nd to get a good spot but we will still allow late comers.

Plans are moving forward for the Fall 2015 edition of the Italy Community Wide Garage Sale this weekend (October 24 from 8am to 1pm). So far we have 4 families having Garage Sales at their home this Saturday.
[Sadly, was rained out]…….Italy will once again have the Italy Main Street Market & Community Wide Garage Sale on Saturday, October 24, 2015. The focal point of this event will be an opportunity for community members in and around Italy to set up mini-garage sale booths in Italy’s downtown Pavilion. Citizens are urged to have garage sales at their home as well. It will be a great opportunity for you to clean out a closet or two as well as finding your next piece for that DIY Pinterest project you have been wanting to do.

The Italy Community Activities Committee is getting everything in order for Italy’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. Make plans to bring your littles ones, from toddlers to 4th grade, to the community wide event that will take place at the Unchurch Ball Fields. The hunt begins at 10:00am.

Downtown Italy came alive on Saturday, December 6, for the annual Christmas Parade and Festival. There was something for everyone this year.
The City of Italy honored local resident, Altha McNeely, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the annual Christmas parade and festival. Altha moved to Italy when she was in the 4th grade. She is a long time member of First Baptist Church.

Local egg hunters had a blast participating in a pair of Easter Egg hunts with sprinkles of colorful eggs and an appearance by the Easter Bunny, played by Breyanna Beets, highlighting the events.
The Community Activities Committee would like to invite anyone who would like to help stuff Easter Eggs this evening. They will begin at 5:30 pm at the Boze Community Center and stuff Easter Eggs until we run out of candy or fill all the eggs. They greatly appreciate the participation our community has given to the events. Thank you City of Italy!!!
The City of Italy will be having their 2nd annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta on Friday, May 2nd from 6pm to 10pm. There will be a salsa and guacamole contest, music, games and lots of food and craft vendors.

The 6th annual Italy Christmas Festival and Parade will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2013 in downtown Italy, Texas. The festival’s activities will run from 7:00am to 2:00pm. Make plans to participate and celebrate the season with your neighbor.
Volunteers needed ASAP for Italy’s first Community Activities Committee. Applications can be picked up or printed from the City of Italy’s website and turned in to City Hall. The commitee will be planning and hosting special events throught out the year.
