The Italy Athletic Booster club is an organization that provides services for high school and junior high school athletes. They do many fundraisers to help the athletes with whatever they may need. Their primary focus is on raising funds for athletic scholarships. “We were able to give out eight $1,000 scholarships last year,” stated Becky Milligan, booster club president. “We usually are able to give out one or two $300 to $500 scholarships. We did a lot of work on it last year. We formed a scholarship committee to work on different fundraisers.”

Every year in the spring they do a fundraiser at the Ennis Motorplex for the Lucas Oil race. Last year they raised $4,000. Another fundraiser they did last year was selling advertising signs to hang on the fences. They sold 14 signs and raised $2,200. They also receive donations. Last year Citizens National Bank donated $500 and this was used to purchase the beautiful new scoreboard.

They are selling adds to be put in football programs for businesses, family members or parents. The pricing goes like this:

1/8th of a page – $25
1/4th of a page – $50
1/2 of a page – $75
1 full page – $125

You can be a member of the Athletic Booster Club by paying dues once a year. For individual memberships it is $5 and for family memberships the cost is $10. When you become a member your name will appear on the booster club page of the football program. By being a member the students will know that you are behind them and support them.
