A few of us Gladiator Boosters would like to solicit donations to purchase spirit flags to run out onto the field with the players at the beginning of games, at halftime, and after touchdowns! I have gotten a quote from a reputable flag company and it looks like we will need roughly $1000.00 to purchase 3 -5′ × 7′ Flags ( I H S). Other options are available as well. Gladiator Athletic Booster Club vice-president, Flossie Gowin, has called a meeting for Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 5:45pm to be held in the Italy High School’s Library. The primary purpose of the meeting will be to elect officers for the upcoming school year. Volunteers are also needed to serve as seasonal coordinators: Fall, Early Winter, Late Winter and Spring. The Italy Gladiator Regiment Band Booster Club will be giving away a Texas Ranger 11-game pass for two on Tuesday, March, 20. This pass includes opening day.
There will be a PTO meeting on Tuesday, February 28th at 7:35 a.m. in the Stafford Elementary Library.The agenda focuses on educational goals and needs for the Stafford Elementary students and staff. Door prizes, homework passes along with refreshments will be a part of the meeting.
On Friday night, the Italy Gladiator Baseball parents pulled together and sponsored a hamburger fundraiser. Careful planning and good cooking brought the Gladiator Baseball team and their parents serving the community burgers and homemade desserts. All the food was donated, so the team cleared profits enough for practice bats and other equipment desperately needed.
The Italy Gladiator Band Booster Club will meet this evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Italy High School band hall. Organizers will be preparing for the upcoming spaghetti dinner fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Uptown Café.

Gladiator Boosters met Sunday evening and voted to move forward with the purchase of two new video cameras for the athletic department. The boosters also made plans to have flags and discounted tshirts available at this Thursday’s Jr High and JV football games against Leon.

The athletes of Italy High School had a real treat on Monday night at the dome. The Italy Athletic Booster Club hosted the annual athletic banquet with a special speaker and awards to boot. Fan of the year was announced, as well as Gladiator and Lady Gladiator of the Year.

Help support the Galdiator Regiment Band with thier Cow Patty Bingo fundraiser! It will be held on May 21, 2011 at the Flying Bar C Ranch in Italy. The cost per square will be $50 and the winner will receive a cash prize.

Currently there is $8,500 shortage of funds for the trip. This meeting will be used as a brainstorming session on more fundraiser project ideas. With the cancellation of the football games Thursday night it gives an opportunity to hold a meeting without too much conflict. Please make plans to attend a meeting of the Gladiator Booster Club Thursday night September 9th at 6:30. There are several decisions that must be made in regards to our bank accounts, bylaws, as well as non-profit status regulations. We will also use this time to collect ad copy, etc., for the 2010 Gladiator Football Program.

Monday, August 23 at 6:30pm there will be a meeting of parents supporting Italy High School Athletics AND Italy High School Regiment Band. The meeting will be held at the Italy High School cafeteria. In a packed library of Athletic, Band and FFA parents, Greg Shropshire of the CPA firm Pattillo, Brown and Hill, LLP of Hillsboro, made recommendations and fielded questions regarding the legalities of booster clubs. After an hour long discussion it was determined that a new athletic booster club would be formed.
On Tuesday, July 13 there will be a meeting for parents of athletes of Italy High School. There will be a representative from the CPA firm Patillo, Brown and Hill on hand to field questions regarding laws on the implementation of parent support organizations. Other Italy ISD parent support organizations (ie. band boosters, Stafford PTA) are welcome to attend. The meeting will be held at 6:30pm in the Italy High School Library.
In this day and time, with the economy the way it is, people cannot always give to non profit organizations like they would when the economy is better. Because of the generosity and donations of the following businesses and individuals, the Italy Athletic Banquet was a success.
