Homecoming 2008 for Italy ISD will be Friday, October 24, 2008. Many activities are planned for that day. The school would like the community to participate in all Homecoming activities this year.

The George Scott Scholarship Committee fundraiser meal will be served at the High School Cafeteria from 5-7 p.m. As in years past, all proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.

A Homecoming Parade will begin at the high school at 3:30 p.m. and travel to Main Street and back to the school. All entrants are asked to arrive 30 minutes early.

Immediately following the parade, there will be a pep rally at the school in the old gym and this year’s Homecoming King will be crowned. At 7:30 p.m. the Italy Gladiators will take on the Wortham Bulldogs in district play.

If anyone owns a convertible or truck and trailer that is available for the parade, please contact Monica Boyd at 972-483-1815. Anyone under the age of 18 that is riding in the parade must have a signed release. The school is also requesting donations of candy for parade participants to toss during the parade. Candy may be taken to the Superintendent’s office at Italy High School.

Vintage automobiles, floats, IHS alumni, state, county and local dignitaries and organizations are invited and encouraged to participate in the parade.
