IYAA has lots of fun every weekend. Boys from age groups of kindergarden through 6th grade. Check out their progress this past weekend.

Italy A vs Ferris A

The Gladiator A team gets on the board but Ferris had too many weapons as the Jackets controlled the tempo for a 28-8 win. Quarterback Kenneth Norwood Jr. hit tailback Travion Zoll with a long catch and run pass play in the second half. Travion caught the two-point conversion to complete the drive. The A team gained a little momentum going into their bye week by earning their first points of the season. Good job guys!

Italy B vs Ferris B

Italy’s B squad hammered the Ferris Jackets in this game! B squad’s defense is loaded with playmakers as displayed by James McIntyre when he scooped up a fumble and raced down inside the Ferris 20-yard line setting up an offensive score. They will hit you every chance they get and swarmed like a bunch of killer bees Saturday as they de-stingered those dirt dobbers 25-6. Offensively, fullback Isaac Salcido and tailback Kendrick Norwood were unstoppable. Big play after big play kept the Golden Boys rolling as they chewed up the turf field in Ferris. It was fun to watch!

Italy C vs Ferris C

What a game! In the first quarter, this battle of undefeated football teams, resembled a track meet as both squads opened up with back to back to back … to back touchdowns. Italy’s Taron Smith struck on the first carry for a six point romp. Ferris matched that with a dash for six points on their first play. Taron scored another six on Italy’s next possession only to have Ferris fire right back with another long run making the score 12-12 at the end of the first quarter.

Jaylon Davis and Jacob Wiser forced a turnover that led to seven points for Italy. A couple of plays later a Ferris pitch was deflected up off of a shoulder pad and Taron Smith caught the ball in mid-air and raced into the end zone putting Italy ahead 25-12 at halftime.

Corbin Schrotke added six more in the second half securing the Italy C victory over Ferris C 31-12.

The next set of games will be in Italy against Mildred beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 18. Don’t forget Homecoming for IYAA is October 25 at Willis Field.
