Box top time again at Stafford
It is time for box top collecting again! The children at Stafford Elementary are being asked to collect box tops. The box tops will be counted once every six weeks. They will be collected by each grade (Pre-school through 6th grade) and every six weeks the grade that collects the most box tops will win a “Box Top Party” sponsored by one of the local businesses.
The local businesses that are sponsoring our parties this year are:
- CDL Help
- Dairy Queen
- Insignah
- Italy Auto
- Robin Wafer, Realtor
- Monolithic
- Trinity Mission
Jennifer Dickerson is the box top coordinator. She has a terrific system to keep all the grades with the box tops separate. She sets buckets above the boxes in the teachers’ lounge labeled Pre-K through 6th grade. As students turn in box tops, teachers drop them in the buckets. At the end of the six weeks Jennifer takes all the buckets, totals the amount of box tops per grade and announces the winner. The winner gets a party! They have ice cream sunday parties, pizza parties, movie parties and DQ even lets them travel to their restaurant and have an ice cream.
Jennifer said, “We receive 10 cents for each box top. Stafford has collected over $2,200 in the past few years with this program.”
So, get your scissors out and start cutting out those box tops! Help our kids have a great party and help the school at the same time.
