Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins. But these were not just any ordinary pumpkins — oh no! These were pretty pumpkins, scary pumpkins and all kinds of decorated pumpkins. There were spider pumpkins, witches and pirate pumpkins, just to name a few.

During the week each grade participated in a group project decorating pumpkins. They did a marvelous job. Never did you see so many beautiful and creative pumpkins.

Thursday, October 30, at Stafford Elementary a pumpkin contest was held. It was difficult to chose winners because all of the pumpkins were so creative and fun.

Mrs. Shepherd’s 2nd grade won first place with a “world” pumpkin, Mrs. Williams’s first grade won second place with a pumpkin decorated as a bird in a bird’s nest and Mrs. Mathers’s third grade won third place with a “beach ball” pumpkin.

“The kids enjoyed the feathers, they got to take the feathers out of the pack and hand them to me as I hot glued them on. The each participated by helping with the feathers and picking up all the sticks and making the nest for our bird,” explained Mrs. Williams.

Everyone had a “pumpkin” good time!
