Italy Fire Department Shows Up Quick
Monolithic Constructors sometimes burns green waste. Their property is located outside of the city limits. Monday was no exception except the choice to burn that day was probably not a good idea. The wind was blowing towards the north and the burn pile was a little too close to the fence-line of the next farm. With the low humidity coming into play, the obvious happened. The fire got away quickly. Only the dry grass of the field burned but one can never outguess the strength of any fire.
Chief Don Chambers of the Italy Fire Department was on the scene quickly and he dispatched the brush truck. Quickly, the firemen arrived and started working on the opposite end of the neighbor’s farm and worked their way towards the fence-line. With a little bit of help from people with shovels, the Italy Fire Department and the water, the fire was under control in no time at all.
Chief Chambers told Mike South, “There is not a burn ban but there is a red flag warning because of low humidity and variable winds.” South said, “The Italy Fire Department is awesome. They showed up within 5 minutes and helped us out. They are great!”
