Thanksgiving feast at Stafford Elementary
Wednesday, November 19th around 10:30 AM, you could find lots of little Indians and Pilgrims wandering around Stafford Elementary. They were all there celebrating Thanksgiving.
For several weeks now the Stafford Elementary Pre-School, Kindergarten and First Grade have been studying about Thanksgiving. They have learned about how the Indians and Pilgrims came together to share a meal.
Jennifer Dickerson (Pre-School teacher) said, “We have been learning about Thanksgiving and celebrate by having a Thanksgiving feast. Both classes dressed up, morning class are the Indians and the afternoon class are the Pilgrims. They joined together for their first Thanksgiving. Just like what they learned, the Indians and Pilgrims came together to share a meal.”
Andrea Hooker, (one of the parents), was on hand to help with this big celebration and said, “I am here to help the first grade class serve up their Thanksgiving feast and to help them to remember to be thankful for everything the good Lord provides in so many ways such as this food and this school.”
Tracy Williams (First grade teacher) said, “We are having a Thanksgiving feast. All the kids brought a different dish and we are all coming together to share their dishes and say thanks for all the many blessing we have, for this food and all the help we have. We are having a good time.”
Holly Spraberry, (Kindergarten teacher) said, “This is our Thanksgiving feast. We have dressed up like Pilgrims and Indians which we have been learning about for the last two weeks. We need to thank David’s Supermarket, they provide all the brown paper bags for our costumes every single year. They do a wonderful service for us by donating all the bags All the kids bring the food and we all come together and have a special lunch, it is a lot of fun.”
Everyone had a great time and no one left hungry!
