New York Giant, Keith Davis Speaks at Milford ISD
Keith Davis, not to be confused with Dallas Cowboy Keith Davis, has been seen on ESPN, ABC, and written about in USA Today and Sports Illustrated. And on December 10th, he was at Milford ISD.
A former college and professional football player, Keith played in one of college football’s biggest bowl games, the Rose Bowl. After completing college at USC, Keith signed a professional contract with the New York Giants of the National Football League. It is important to note that while at the University of Southern California Keith had the highest grade point average on the Trojan Football team. He graduated with a degree in Business Finance. He was a star then and still is, but on a different field. He now travels from school to school all over the country to encourage students to succeed in their life and tells them how to do it.
He came to Milford ISD to tell the students they can succeed no matter what their circumstances are. “Everyone can be great, they can go after their dreams and succeed. But it does not come easy.” He used terms like, “ Tough times don’t last but tough people do”, “You were not born a winner or a loser, but you were born a chooser.”
“Push, you have to push to succeed and never give up, push stands for: persevere until something happens,” explained the former NFL football player.
These words of advice were aimed at the Milford ISD students but it applies to all of us.
