Mark Souder honored by Italy Lions Club
Italy’s Lions Club honored Mark Souder with a Lion’s Club “dedicated service” plaque. This was presented to Mark in appreciation of his outstanding dedicated service and exceptional leadership as president of the Lions Club for two years.
“Mark Souder is the driving force behind this club, we could not do it without him. We all love Mark to death, he is always working diligently behind the scenes,” said Arval Gowin (current president of the Italys Lions Club).
In their meeting they also discussed the BBQ Cook Off which will be on February 27th and 28th at the Upchurch Ball Park. There will be a $65 entry fee plus one cooked brisket. Each entrant can compete in any or all categories which are: chicken, pork spare ribs and brisket. There will also be a jackpot bean category with an additional $10 entry fee (beans provided by the Lions club). For the first place winner there will be a trophy. BBQ plate lunches will be sold for $6 each. All proceeds will benefit the Lions Club Scholarship Program. Lions Club “All you can eat pancake breakfast” was also discussed. This event will take place March 14th from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Wayne Boze building. The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage and bacon — all you can eat — $5 for adults and $3 for children ten and under.
