A Italy Lions Club recycle bin will be set up at Italy’s home football game this Friday night, November 10th, 2017. Stop by the table and bring your old glasses and help a person in need.
The 2017 Italy Lions Club BBQ Cook-Off fundraiser went off without a hitch. Well, except for the 29 hitches that rolled into Upchurch Ballpark on Friday pulling behind them personalized barbeque pits from around the country as participants grilled and basted for top prizes.
The Italy Lions Club will be raffling off a Traeger Wood Pellet Grill in conjunction with their annual BBQ Cook Off. Tickets are on sale now! Drawing will be held Saturday, February 18. Get with any Lions Club member to purchase tickets.

After an unrelenting wet spell last spring caused a cancellation of the Italy Lions Club’s annual BBQ Cook-off, plans are underway for this years event.
Our local Lions Club would like to share the following information regarding an upcoming Golf Tournament Fundraiser benefiting the Lions Sight and Tissue Foundation.
The Lions Club is looking for a new date to have their annual BBQ Cook-off. The weather did not cooperate this year with their original date and March 20 & 21 is not panning out to be a good date either. They are rescheduling the event and a new date will be posted as soon as possible.

The Italy Lions Club will be raffling off a backyard smoker built by the Italy High School Ag Department’s dual-credit welding class. The tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. The raffle winner will be drawn after the conclusion of the annual Lions Club Bar-B-Que cook off this weekend (Saturday, February 22, 2014).

Friday morning the Italy Lions Club had a large vision bus parked at Stafford Elementary ready to supply students with glasses. This bus has an eye doctor, vision equipment, glasses and helpful Italy Lions Club members ready to make sure every student that needs glasses receives glasses. It is like an eye doctors office on wheels. Italy Lions Club has been doing this for five years now.
The Italy Lions Club will host a vision clinic at Stafford Elementary Friday, October 4th. They will be set up in the cafeteria from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
The Italy chapter of Lions Club met at the Church of Christ annex on Monday night to achieve a two-fold project. First, was to advertise the Texas Lions Camp, a summer camping facility dedicated to serving children from the State of Texas with physical disabilities and Type 1 diabetes. Secondly, to invite people to help serve their fellow citizens.
The Lions Club will have their regular monthly meeting this Sunday, May 5th at 3pm at the Monolithic Training Center at 209 Dome Park Place, Italy. There will be a guest speaker for the Texas Lions Camp. An invitation is extended to the community to come and hear about this special camp.
On Saturday, December 1, the Italy Lions Club will have their annual Breakfast with Santa. The all you can eat pancakes and sausage breakfast will be served at the Boze Community Center in downtown Italy from 7:00 to 10:00am. Come join Santa and the Italy Lions Club for this special holiday event.
On Monday evening, November 19th at 7:00pm, the Italy Lions Club will sponsor a Sight and Tissue Foundation presentation. This presentation is not only to find out about ways to help our children with their eyesight, but serves adults, too!
The Italy Lions Club wishes to thank Lonestar BBQ Society for their support in our 4th Annual BBQ Cook-off. The cookers came from local and as far as Oklahoma, Abilene and Austin to name a few locations. The cookers were very generous with their donations and awesome BBQ. This year we had 50 cookers and that made it a qualifier for the Invitational Cook-offs later in the year.
This was the fourth year for the Italy Lion’s Club’s (sanctioned by the Lone Star BBQ Society) annual cookoff. According to Arval Gowin (Lions Club president) it was a great success. They had the most entries (cookers) they have ever had. This year there were fifty cooks!

The Italy Lions Club kicks off the Christmas Festival and Parade with an all you can eat breakfast. For just $5.00 you can have a great breakfast and hang around for the parade and festivities.
The Italy Lions Club will be taking water and Gatorade donations for the Italy Fire Department as well as canned food donations for the Italy Ministerial Alliance at every home football game for the remainder of the season.
Last Friday and Saturday the Upchurch Ball Park was overflowing with BBQ grills, RV’s and people galore. It was the Italy Lions Club’s third annual BBQ cook-off. They had the biggest turn out of cookers this time – they had fourty-four cookers.

On Saturday, December 4, the Italy Lions Club will have their annual Pancake Breakfast. Breakfast will be served at the Fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church located at 200 Clark Street, Italy from 7:00 to 11:00am. Santa might even stop by!
The Italy Lions Club held their monthly meeting at Monolithic Constructors on Sunday, September 12th at 3:OO PM. This was a special meeting featuring their district governor, Dan Busdiecker.
Ivan Roldan was presented the Italy Lion’s Club Scholarship on Sunday, August 1st at the Lions Club monthly meeting. Mark Souder Sr. (Italy Lions Club vice president) presented Ivan his check with many Lions Club members looking on sharing in his excitement.
The Italy Lions Club has cooked briskets for sale today and tomorrow at Hobbs Feed. There are also BBQ sandwiches available.

The Italy Lions Club needs people to help judge for the annual BBQ Cook-off. Proceeds will turn around and benefit the community. The club sponsors local charities, eye exam clinics and scholarships. All you have to do is eat!
Friday and Saturday Italy Lions Club members were busy selling their mops and brooms for the blind. Italy citizens came out and as usual were supporting this good cause. Italy ISD, Milford ISD and First Baptist Church of Milford were some of the bigger buyers.
Italy Lion’s Club is having their very first Broom and Mop sale. Once again, the Italy Lions Club is busy helping anyone they can. The sale will be held at Hobb’s Feed and Supply on Friday and Saturday, February 5th and 6th.

Recently at Stafford Elementary the Lions Club pulled up in their big bus to give eye exams and glasses to the students who needed them. Dr. Donna Haas has her practice, ‘Trinity Vision’ located in the Addison area, but travels to Italy in the bus to help children in need.
Be one of the first to see the Dallas Cowboys new Stadium this year. The Italy Lions Club is raffling off two tickets and a parking pass to see the Cowboys play the San Diego Chargers on Dec. 13th.
Saturday, June 27th around six o’clock at the Church of Christ Annex building the Italy Lions Club had their first awards and installation of officers banquet. Alice Conway District Governor for the Lions Club District 2X1 was there to officially install the incoming officers.

Early Saturday morning at 8:00 AM the Wayne Boze building was the place to be. As you walked indoors from the chilly cold weather you were greeted with the delicious aroma of pancakes and syrup.
How many pancakes can you eat? Come on and find out on this Saturday morning, March 14th at 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM at the Wayne Boze building downtown Italy. This is where the Lions Club will be holding their pancake breakfast. There will be door prizes, contests and games for the children. It all adds up to a lot of fun.
Italy Lions Club joined up with the Lone Star BBQ Society and put on a great BBQ Cook-Off at the Upchurch baseball fields Saturday in Italy. The event began on Saturday but Friday morning is when the real fun began.

The Italy Lions club will be out at various locations in Italy Saturday the 14th selling raffle tickets for a cruise for two. The value of the cruise is $2,000. The winner will work with a travel agent to pick a destination and make all the arrangements.
