Italy Lions Club – A beacon of hope
The Italy Lions Club held their monthly meeting at Monolithic Constructors on Sunday, September 12th at 3:OO PM. This was a special meeting featuring their district governor, Dan Busdiecker.
Busdiecker was at the meeting to help with suggestions on how to help the club grow. Some of his suggestions were to do more community projects and keep doing service projects like they have been doing. He also suggested that at the meetings have some of the members tell why they are members and tell of some of their heart warming experiences while doing service projects.
“Lions Clubs are the “Beacon of Hope” for many adults and children that need a little extra help. Such as children that need glasses. The district governor went on to say, " We are a light house. We are the light that shines out and brings a beacon of hope. Being a Lions Club member is very rewarding."
Two FFA banners were presented to Haley Pittmon by the Italy Lions Club. Haley was accepting the banners on the behalf of the FFA for Italy High School.
An award was presented to Jimmy Hobbs (Hobbs Feed Store) by Arvil Gowin (President of Italy Lions Club) for his dedication to the Italy Chapter Lions Club. Gowen said, " Joyce and James Hobbs have been a blessing to our club. They have partnered up with us and have helped with all kinds of service and community projects." The Hobbs’ also received a free night out to dinner courtesy of Italy Lions Club.
