Italy Lion’s Club pancake breakfast
Early Saturday morning at 8:00 AM the Wayne Boze building was the place to be. As you walked indoors from the chilly cold weather you were greeted with the delicious aroma of pancakes and syrup.
The Italy Lions Club was raising money for eye glasses and scholarships for the Italy students. Mark Souder, Sr., Vice President of Lyons Club, said, “This is our third year of doing the pancake breakfast in March. We are trying to raise money for the scholarship fund and for the eye glass clinic that comes in September for the kids at the school. We are trying to do what we can for the folks in Italy.” Mark went on to say, “They are taking applications at the high school for our scholarships so any of the seniors that are interested in applying should pick up an application. You can pick up the application in the counselor’s office.”
Arval Gowin, (Italy Lions Club president) said, “We raised about one hundred and fifty dollars. Many Italy citizens gave lots of donations. We want to thank everyone for making the pancake breakfast a success.”
Everyone left full and feeling good knowing they were supporting their community.
