4th Annual Lions Club BBQ Cook-off scheduled for February 24 & 25
The fourth annual Italy Lions Club BBQ Cook-off in scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 24th and 25th. This event is sanctioned by the Lone Star BBQ Society. As in years past, the cook-off will be staged at the Upchurch Ball Park at 201 E. Dilworth Road in Italy. New this year will be a Cooks Choice category.
Everyone is welcome to compete as it is not necessary to be an Italy Lions Club member to participate!

- Half Chicken
- Pork Spare Ribs
- Brisket
- Pork Butt
In order to be considered for Grand Champion you must enter the Pork Butt category. Grand Champion will receive free entry to next year’s cook off.
Entry fee for Cook-off is $75 plus a cooked brisket. Entry fee covers one or all of the above listed categories.
There will also be a Jackpot Bean category with a $10 entry fee.
New this year will be a Cooks Choice category. There will be a $20 entry fee with 100% payback. Desserts will not be allowed.
The kids cook-off will be a boneless pork chop that will be provided by the Italy Lions Club. Kids will turn in their cooked pork chop at 8:00pm on Friday.
Complimentary breakfast will be served to all entrants and judges Saturday morning.
There will be a silent auction and raffle held in conjunction with this event as well.
Plate lunches will be sold on Saturday for $8.00 per plate.
