ALERT – Italy Police Chief C.V. Johns is issuing this alert to area homeowners:

We have been receiving information regarding a black female and a heavily tattooed white male knocking on doors at night asking local residents for money. They seem to be targeting the elderly but everyone needs to be aware.

Chief Johns requests that under no circumstances should anyone give them any money and would rather that everyone keep their doors locked and call 911 immediately. Simply explain to the operator the situation. For example: That you are home alone and that there is someone at your door that you do not know.

So remember, if anyone is knocking on your door that you do not personally know, leave the doors locked and immediately call 911.
