The Italy Neotribune would like to congratulate Italy’s 8th grade girls for winning the Blooming Grove Basketball Tournament last Saturday. We also wish to congratulate the 7th grade girls for finishing in 2nd place in the tournament.

8th grade girls
The Italy 8th grade girls moved past Wortham in the 1st round and then led by playmaker #5 Jameka Copeland, Italy knocked off the Blooming Grove Lady Lions to win the tournament championship.

Italy’s 7th grade girls made a strong showing as well making it to the Championship game but, unfortunately, lost by 1-point to the Blooming Grove Lady Lions 7th grade squad.
