Friday evening on January 23rd the place to be was the Stafford Elementary Cafeteria. There was delicious chili for all and many beautiful items to be bid on in the Silent auction which made it such a success. Approximately $2,000.00 was raised which will benefit Stafford Elementary and Stafford students.

Many items were bid on and sold such as the Stafford quilt donated by Lanelle Riddle, that brought in a price of $500.00. And that is not all, the “Kitchen” basket was donated by the fourth grade which went for $70.00, along with the “Dog” basket donated by the second grade which was purchased for $100.00. We can’t forget the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes, they donated the “Valentine” basket which brought in $50.00, the “Game” basket donated by the first grade was purchased for $52.00 and the “Western” basket donated by the third grade went for $50.00. Lets not forget the last two baskets, the “Sports” basket donated by the sixth grade which was purchased for $45.00 and the three “Spa” baskets donated by the fifth graders when combined brought in $144.00.

Andrea Hooker, PTO Vice President, said, “We had another great year thanks to the Italy community. They have supported us in all our endeavors.”

“A special thanks to Ronald Janek for cooking the chili for us again this year. It was a success,” said Jenna Chambers, PTO Secretary.

Way to go Italy and good job on the baskets Stafford Elementary!
