Everyone was laughing including the teachers when I walked into Stafford Elementary’s gymnasium Friday morning around 8:30 AM.

I understood the laughter as I saw on the projector screen a picture of an adorable little dog, that I later learned was named Toby.

Cindy Tucker is the author of Toby’s Texas Tales. This book full of fun adventures with Toby visiting many fun places in Texas such as state parks, lakes and so on.

Tucker teaches about the state bird, state fish, state flower and much more information about the state of Texas. Tucker encourages student participation by asking many questions to the students. Today, Cindy asked who knows what the state fish is. She had many answers but David Delahoya (fourth grader) had the right answer and was rewarded with a prize. By the way, the state fish is the Guadalupe Bass.

A signed autographed book, Toby’s Texas Tales, was available to purchase along with a “Toby” necklace.

Another fun day of learning at Stafford Elementary.
