Wednesday, February 11th in the gymnasium at Stafford Elementary third grade through sixth grade students were found jumping rope. But this time they were not just jumping for fun. This time they were participating in the program, “Jump Rope for Heart.”

Some students also participated in “Hoops for Heart.” Many students were doing their best to make as many baskets as they could to raise money for people with heart problems.

The elementary students asked friends and family for donations to help raise money for the American Heart Association.

There were prizes for the child with the most baskets and for the boy student and the girl student that jumped the longest.

“We are raising money for the American Heart Association. We worked on jump roping all week and this week we practiced shooting hoops. This is a great program for the kids to get to help others while having a great time,” explained Angie Janek (P.E. teacher).
