And Junior second baseman, Abby Griffith added 2 defensive 2 assists. But the defensive play of the game was the outstanding mid infield catch by Freshman shortstop Bailey Bumpus. It was a “snow cone” catch at a full sprint. This play showcased the range and agility that Bailey brings to the team.

Angelica Garza, the team’s lone senior, played a big part in that overall average by batting a 1000 herself. The Lady Gladiators held the Rice Bulldogs scoreless until the final inning of the game. This inning the Lady Bulldogs came out with a “do or die” attitude and were able to put 3 points on the board. The Lady Gladiators kept their cool and worked systematically to get the three outs needed to put the game away.
