The Lady Gladiator softball team traveled to Frost on Friday to continue their district play against the Lady Polar Bears. Their 12-1 win gave Italy a 5-0 district record and a record of 12-1-1 overall.
The Gladiator Baseball and Lady Gladiator Softball team will host their skills camps Monday, June 4 thru Wednesday June 6, 2018 from 9:30am -11:30 am.
2018 Super Centex FCA Victory Bowl player selections have been announced with Italy’s Clay Riddle (Football) and Brycelen Richards (Softball) being chosen to compete this summer in June. Three players from Milford, Markavion Thompson (Football), Lowisley Ojeda (Football), and Marquisha Houston (Volleyball), will be participating as well. To be listed as a donator in the program, contact those responsible for receiving the donations by Tuesday, February 20. Monies will not be collected until March (Non-listed donations can still be accepted between now and March).
We have been notified by school personnel that the Lady Gladiator Softball Hamburger Dinner along with scheduled Basketball games against Frost originally slated for Tuesday, January 23th have been moved back one day. These events will now be held on Wednesday, January 24th.

Italy High School senior softball student-athlete April Lusk has recently been selected to participate in the 2nd Annual 2017 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Super Centex Victory Bowl All-Star Softball Game. The game will be played at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor (UMHB) on Friday, June 9, in Belton.

The Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes announced the 2017 Blue and Red Team Coaching Staffs at a press conference on Saturday, January 7th, with Italy High School head softball coach Tina Richards being selected to the RED team coaching staff.
The future is bright for the Italy Lady Gladiators. Although the high school group is fielding the lowest number of select players they have fielded in the 21st century, six of their younger minions have taken up their bats, gloves, and gear to play select on a variety of teams in North Texas.

The Italy Lady Gladiators defeated the Riesel Lady Indians rather matter-of-factly on Thursday with a 13-1 game 1 win in the bi-district round of the 2016 Softball 2A Region 2 Playoffs hosted in Italy. Riesel responded two days later to win games 2 and 3, claiming the bi-district championship for the Lady Indians.
Senior Day: Italy seniors Britney Chambers, Cassidy Childers, Lillie Perry and Hannah Washington are recognized for their career-long efforts before their district matchup against visiting Covington.
The Lady Gladiators take care of Avalon at home 13-3 to sweep the Eagles in district play and will attempt to sweep Itasca this season, as well, with another home game tonight starting at 5:30 p.m.
All 3rd grade thru 9th grade students are invited to attend softball camp during Spring Break at Italy High School. Monday, March 14 thru Thursday, March 17 from 10:00am-12:30am each day. Cost to attend is $25.

Congratulations to the Italy Lady Gladiators who conquered the Woodsboro Softball Tournament of Champions by going undefeated over a two-day period. Italy won all 5 of their games to repeat as tournament champions for the second consecutive year.

After an undefeated district championship and eventually finishing as automatic bi-district champions and area finalists, several members of the 2015 Italy Lady Gladiators Softball program received all-district recognition for their efforts this season.
Jaclynn Lewis, a 2015 graduate of Italy High School, has been selected to the 2015 Texas Girls Coaches Association’s All-State team. This is the third time Lewis has been so honored.

Faith Family, a charter school in Waxahachie forfeited their game to the Italy Lady Gladiators last night. It had been the second time the team had forfeited a district match to the Italy team. The Ladies are now 20 wins against only 4 losses for the year.
The Italy Lady Gladiators find themselves in first place, one game ahead of last year’s district champion Frost. Tuesday they traveled to Covington to complete the first round of district games. The Lady Gladiators remain undefeated in district.
