Image:

Come one, come all; Thursday March 12th, Italy High School will be holding a Carter Blood Bank blood drive in the IHS Dome from 10:30 am until 5:00 pm.

You may ask yourself: Why should I give blood? You need to know that every minute of everyday, someone needs blood and that 5% of all hospitalized patients recieve life-saving blood transfusions?

Another frequently asked question about a blood drives is: Are they safe? Yes, all equipment used for the donation process is sterile, disposable, and this means used only one time then discarded. There is no danger of contracting any infectious disease by donating blood.

The requirements are as follows:

  • must weigh at least 110 lbs,
  • not donated in the last 8 weeks
  • bring a photo I.D. for verification that you are 17 years old or older.

Come to the Italy High School Dome on March 12th between 10:30 am and 5:00 and give blood because the life you save could easily be your own.
