On Saturday, May 30 there will be a benefit event at the Ellis County Expo Building on 287 bypass in Waxahachie. Please mark your calendars. The event will include a Washer Tournament, a BBQ Cook-off and will feature live music by several local bands and music artists. This all day event will benefit the 14U Texas Travelers softball team of Ellis County.

The Washer Tournament will begin at 2:15 p.m. and will play on until there is a winner. There will be cash prizes and the entry fee is $25.00 per team.

The BBQ Cook-Off, sanctioned by the Lone Star Barbecue Society will feature these categories: Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, and Half Chicken. There will also be a jackpot bean category. Entry fee is $75 plus one cooked brisket.

The entertainment line up will feature Dakota Butler, Justin Guthrie, Mark Laubach, Dallahachie Boys and the White Noise Band. There will be concessions of BBQ sandwiches, chips and sodas. B.Y.O.B.
