Calling all kids ten years old and younger! You are invited to The Mayor’s Easter Egg Hunt on April 11th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dunlap Library downtown Italy, Texas. There will be over forty eight hundred eggs for everyone to find. Which are being donated by the Park Board Committee, local businesses and citizens of Italy.

“We still need donations for candy, and prizes to go in the eggs,” said Mayor Frank Jackson. He went on to say, " The Mayor’s Easter Egg Hunt is an annual event. We are all kids at heart. I remember the good old days when we used to have Easter Egg hunts at our house and at my Grandma’s house and they were fun. That is what we are striving to do for the kids here in Italy, build good memories for them."

There will be plenty of hot cocoa and cookies free of charge and of course plenty of Easter eggs.

This year’s sponsors are the Park Board and the Lions Club. The Lions Club is going to donate their time and help with the children during the egg hunt. Jason Escamilla (Park Board member) , “We are here to give the kids a good time and have fun. We want to let the kids know we are here for them.”

Mayor Jackson will be at the Easter Egg hunt Saturday along with the Easter Bunny, so come on out, bring your kids and have a great time.

If you wish to give donations just bring them to the City Hall.
