“Cost of Freedom” Veterans Traveling Tribute in DeSoto April 15-20

The city of DeSoto is hosting the “Cost of Freedom” American Veterans Traveling Tribute from April 15-20 at Grimes Park, 500 E. Centre Park Blvd., DeSoto, Texas 75115. AVTT is open for viewing 24 hours a day, Thursday, April 16, 12:00 p.m. through Monday, April 20, 7:00 a.m.

The AVTT travels across the United States providing a forum for communities to come together to honor, respect, and remember all who have sacrificed their lives for our country’s freedom. This tribute honors all veterans to insure that they will never be forgotten and shows our support of the men and woman currently serving in the Armed Forces.

The tribute features the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall, which is an 80% replica of the original Vietnam Wall. It is 370 feet long and 8 feet tall at the apex. The Wall will be accompanied by a large art display of memories and heroes to honor all veterans.
