Stafford Elementary students in the Pre- K, Kindergarten and First grade were all invited to come have a day of fun at the Monolithic Domes. This took place last week to help the students keep busy while the higher grades took their TAKS test.

The students took a tour of “Bruco”, the italian caterpillar, and also toured Monolithic’s newest dome, the Monolithic Cabin.

They were then off to Monolithic’s training center to play games and watch movies. Miss Dickerson (Pre- K teacher), said, “Monolithic has invited us out here to the domes to have a day away from the school because we are in TAKS testing. It is giving the kids an opportunity to see the domes which is what Italy is known for and it gives the kids a treat. We are so greatly appreciative of everything Monolithic does for us. This is the second year they have had us out here.”

Tessa South was instrumental in putting together many games for the children to enjoy. There was the “Race Track” game, where the students roll a dice and move so many spaces, the object of this game was to get to the finish line first. “Leap Frog” was next. Students had little rubber band frogs that they shot, trying to land the frog on a lilly pad. The object of the game is to get the most frogs on the lilly pads. Next was “Ring Toss”. Several two liter soda bottles were lined up and the object of this game was to get the most rings on the bottles. The last game was the “Lollipop” game. Each student would pick a lollipop. Each lollipop had a color on it, either pink or green. The pink one earned you a free Dairy Queen blizzard, the green one earned you a free Dairy Queen ice cream cone.

Another great day for Stafford Elementary students!
