June Frame Celebrates Her 100th Birthday
June Frame celebrated her 100th birthday on June 5th, 2009 at Trinity Mission with music, food and drink. Her granddaughter, Arlan Kanz and her two great granddaughters, Gracie and Mylie Kanz, came to play the harp and the violin for her to help her celebrate this momentous moment.
There was sparkling grape juice (served in wine glasses), punch, fruit and a beautiful birthday cake for everyone to join in the celebration of this grand event.
The Mayor issued a proclamation celebrating June Frame’s 100th birthday. This proclamation was presented to June by Terri Murdock (City of Italy administrator), “We presented her with the proclamation and a plant to honor June on her special day.”
Frame is a published author and has written thirty one novels. While pursuing her career as a novelist she did a lot of other writing which included writing for and working as an editorial Assistant for Family Circle Magazine and Progressive Architecture Magazine, writing for the Bellingham Herald and the Seattle Times. The last book June wrote she co-authored with Pat Pratt was published in 1997.
Pat Pratt (a long time friend of June’s) was at the party and said, “I have known June Frame for about 12 years. She and I wrote a book together, On With the Dance. It was my first novel and her 31st novel. June is a published novelist of many, many years and I have adopted her as my own because she has no close family here. Her granddaughter and great grandaughters came here today all the way from Fort Worth just to play music for Miss Frame’s birthday party.”
Carolyn Powell (activities director), "Isn’t it amazing to have someone say they have lived one hundred years. To think about all the things they have seen – presidents come and gone and family members come and gone. Today we celebrate June Frame’s 100th birthday and we hope she has many more.
Happy 100th Birthday June Frame!
