Recently at Trinity Mission, residents could be seen petting and loving a beautiful dog by the name of Phoebe. Even visitors coming to visit loved ones couldn’t resist stopping and petting this beautiful and loving dog.

When you walked into Trinity Mission Thursday mid morning all the staff members were wearing their pajamas! Why you ask? Because they were having their Christmas party for the residents and they wanted it to be like everyone just woke up on Christmas morning ready to enjoy Christmas.

Trinity Mission’s Tree of Memories Service

The Tree of Memories at Trinity Mission was held last Thursday evening to honor and recognize the residents that passed away this year. Family members of loved ones that passed away this year were invited to come and share memories about their loved ones and put an angel on the ‘Tree of Memories’ in their name.

It was an invasion of the cutest little elves you ever saw at Trinity Mission Tuesday right around 1:30 PM! Who am I talking about you might ask? It is the kindergarten class of Avalon ISD of course!

Stafford students delight Trinity Mission residents with song

Stafford Elementary first and second graders brought Christmas cheer to the residents of Trinity Mission on Tuesday morning. It was also pajama day at Stafford Elementary so all these beautiful students were singing Christmas songs in their pajamas. It made you think it was Christmas morning and everyone was up early to see what Santa left under the tree!

Chris Baker returns to Trinity Mission

Chris Baker started his position as director of marketing for Trinity Mission May of 2009. His last day was January 7th, 2011 when he decided to take an administrative position at an assisted living facility in Forth Worth. Now he is back at Trinity Mission as the director of marketing again with a very happy heart.

Open House at Trinity Mission December 12th

February birthdays celebrated at Trinity Mission

February is the month of the year known for Valentines Day. Everyone loves Valentines Day especially residents at Trinity Mission. You know, cookies, Valentine Queen and King nominations and crowning of the winners! But Valentines Day is not the only special event in February at Trinity Mission.

January birthdays celebrated at Trinity Mission

When we think of January we think of cold, cold weather, sometimes snow and sometimes cold winds whistling through the air in Texas. But the cold never touched Trinity Mission in January, because there were so many warm birthday wishes being offered to the birthday residents that no one could ever be touched by the cold.

Ho! Ho! Ho! That is what Santa said when he visited Trinity Mission for the residents’ Christmas celebration. And what a celebration it was! The staff out did themselves as usual, but this time they went all out. They put on a talent show that could not be beat!

Light up an Angel’s Christmas at Trinity Mission

For the first time at Trinity Mission they are hosting an Angel Tree for the residents. As you enter the building you see many beautiful Christmas trees, six in all, decorated with pretty lights and gorgeous decorations. You will see a beautiful Christmas tree in the dining room that truly belongs to the residents. The residents hand made all the ornaments, paper chains and even hand strung popcorn garland.

Sharing Thanksgiving with family and friends

Trinity Mission was filled with family and friends recently for their annual Thanksgiving Feast. The tables were beautifully set with fall colors. The staff members truly out did themselves this year serving everyone with a smile, making the Thanksgiving Celebration a grand one for all.

Trinity Mission Shares Their Halloween Spirit

Halloween, what a fun time everyone has for this occasion. Although I don’t know who has more fun than the folks at Trinity Mission. Each year they share their Halloween spirit with the Stafford Elementary students by putting on a fall festival complete with games, candy and lots of fun.

Once again it is time to celebrate birthdays at Trinity Mission. This month it is an all girl’s birthday celebration. The birthday girls are: Laverne Lewis, Beverly Carter, Sizie Thompson, Evelyn Pollock, Rosalynn Lee and Billie Baxter.

My mother, Beverly Carter is a resident of Trinity Mission in Italy, Texas. While we were putting away the Christmas decorations in her room, I noticed there were more decorations to put away than I remembered putting out earlier in December.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas and lots of Christmas Cheer. That is what was happening at Trinity Mission last week. Santa showed up at Trinity Mission to make a special appearance for the residents’ Christmas party.

National Rehabilitation Awareness Week at Trinity Mission

Trinity Mission will be celebrating National Rehabilitation Awareness Week September 18th through September 24, 2011. Everyone is welcome to come and join in the fun. Each day they will be focusing on different therapy departments. Come and see what Trinity Mission is doing! Family members and community members are so welcome.

Italy High School CB&I class visits Trinity Mission

Teresa Young, the CB&I teacher for Italy High School, is really enjoying her job. Last year she was the CB&I teacher for Stafford Elementary. With her new position at the high school, teaching life skills is a big part of her job. Every Friday Mrs.Young and her class go around the community and do volunteer work. This Friday they were at Trinity Mission.

Dow Anna McGregor grew up volunteering. Her mother, Francis Dunaway McGregor volunteered at hospitals, nursing homes, churches and people’s homes. So it was just natural that Dow Anna McGregor would follow in her footsteps.
