Light up an Angel’s Christmas at Trinity Mission
For the first time at Trinity Mission they are hosting an Angel Tree for the residents. As you enter the building you see many beautiful Christmas trees, six in all, decorated with pretty lights and gorgeous decorations. You will see a beautiful Christmas tree in the dining room that truly belongs to the residents. The residents hand made all the ornaments, paper chains and even hand strung popcorn garland.
Then there is the Angel Tree. Now this tree is something very special because all of the residents are represented on the tree with their very own angel. Each angel has a resident’s name on it and when you turn it over their clothing size is on the back.
When asked how they came up with this idea of an Angel Tree for the residents, Mare Wood (administrator) replied, "The staff and I decided to help the “Angels” at Trinity Mission have a wonderful Christmas. We want everyone to feel loved and we want everyone to get a Christmas present this year."
Trinity Mission has their Christmas party this year on Thursday, the twentieth of December. The staff will be putting on a talent show for the residents, cookies and punch for all and of course no Christmas party is complete without Santa Clause!
Carolyn Powell (activities director) said, “Come on out to Trinity Mission and pick an ‘Angel’ off of our tree. This is our first year of hosting an ‘Angel Tree’ for our residents. We want to honor our residents and help the ones that don’t have family members to make their Christmas ‘bright’. It is Christmas time in the City of Italy. Come and help our residents celebrate. And if you want to be in a talent show give us a call!”
If you would like to get an ‘Angel’ from Trinity Mission just go in the front door and there is the tree filled with ‘Angels’! In order to have the presents ready for the Christmas celebration they need to be turned in by the seventeenth of December.
