Trinity Mission took time to recognize and honor the nurses aides during the week of National Certified Aides Appreciation week celebrated June 13th through June 20th.

Trinity Mission nurses aides work very hard as all nurses aids do. They work with patients who require assistance to perform even the most basic tasks such as to be fed, bathed or moved. Nursing aides help reposition bedridden patients so they do not develop bedsores and they help patients who need assistance going to the bathroom. It is a very important position and sometimes over looked. So the folks at Trinity Mission made sure they felt important on their special week.

On Friday, they served cake and soda to say ‘Thank You’ to the nurses aides for doing a lot of the hard work that others don’t necessarily want to do. And doing it with kindness, warmth and smiles.

Sarah Zambrano (assistant activities director) said, “This is our way of recognizing them for all their hard work, sometimes dirty work. They are the core of our nursing home. We would be lost without them.”

Not only did the assistant activities director serve the nurses aides but also a very grateful resident, Gwen Somerville, served them soda with a smile!

Another day of celebrating life at Trinity Mission.
