Marie Wood retires from Trinity Mission
Marie Wood has been the administrator on and off for Trinity Mission for over 15 years. She has decided to retire and spend more time with her family. Her gentle manor and smiling face will truly be missed.
Marie brought the first resident across the threshold when they moved everyone into the new building. She said, “I remember that day very well. The community was so wonderful the day of the move. We had thirty three to thirty four patients to be relocated into the new building. The community pulled together and had every patient moved in by the end of the day.”
In honor of all of her years of faithful service the department heads of Trinity Mission all got together and took Marie to Dallas to the Three Forks Restaurant. Marie said, “All of the food is homemade and just melts in your mouth, even the blue cheese is freshly made. We had a wonderful time. We laughed and cried about all the memories here at Trinity Mission.”
Upon retirement Marie plans on spending more time with her husband who is ill and is now in a nursing home. She also wants to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wood said, “I also plan on continuing to be active in geriatric life, volunteer work in long term care in nursing homes and be more active in my church life.”
Marie wanted to say this to to the staff, residents and community, “The Trinity Mission staff and residents and the community of Italy have respected me so much and with them and God’s help have allowed me to share my love, and guidance with the residents. I praise God for every resident that has come to this facility. I want to thank everyone because I could not have made it with out the staff and community support.”
You will be truly missed Marie Wood! Have a great retirement.
