Easter Fun at Trinity Mission
Everyone loves Easter at Trinity Mission. Easter usually means spring weather should be coming soon, gardens to be planted and Christ is celebrated. What could be better?
The celebration last week came close! Things were “hoppin” at Trinity Mission of Italy. There were so many things going on such as an egg hunt, a ventriloquist, prize drawings and lots more! Remember, we are talking about Trinity Mission and they are always make life fun for the residents.
Celeste Carroll (activities director) said, “The spirit of Easter came to Trinity Mission of Italy on Saturday. Our community showed their true loving spirit for Trinity Mission this Easter. We had families of residents and staff participate in our celebration. All enjoyed our ventriloquist, cotton candy, prize drawing, coloring table, egg hunt, and yes we even had baby chickens. Navarro College and our local Masonic Lodge sent us volunteers. Our staff also jumped right in to help make it a great day.”
The volunteers from Navarro college are in training for a career in health care. So this was a perfect fit for them to help with the residents and join in the fun. The ventriloquist brought her favorite friend named Melvis. Melvis tickled many a funny bone and brought many smiles to everyone’s faces.
We can’t forget the volunteers from our Masonic Lodge! James Hobbs, Paul and Jake Carroll could be seen passing out cotton candy making sure everyone was having a great time.
Well, if you are a resident of Trinity Mission you also got to make Easter decorations for the big event on Saturday. Celeste Carroll (activities director) always makes sure the residents are having fun celebrating life. She thought making Easter crafts would be a good idea and boy was she right.
The residents decorated paper crosses and paper eggs with all sorts of beautiful decorations for Easter. Residents could be seen with their heads together conferring on what they should put on their crosses and eggs. Smiling faces were all around as they worked hard on their craft projects.
“Our Residents would like to say THANK YOU, to all who volunteered their time, gave gifts, and donations,” explained Celeste.
Another great day of celebrating life at Trinity Mission.
