Last years’ hard working squads poured the winning foundation and Coach Stacy McDonald is building on that progress by running a 4-day basketball camp for 3rd through 9th graders.

All the girls are looking sharp and are taking a dedicated approach to building something special for Italy fans.

Coach McDonald is getting some coaching help from past and current Lady Gladiators such as Megann Lewis, Kyonne Birdsong, Becca DeMoss, Blanca Figueroa, Jimesha Reed, Kaytlin Rossa, Shelbi Gilley, Melissa Smithey, Khadijah Davis and Megan Richards.

Coach McDonald is doing an incredible job of running an organized and spirited camp. The campers are focused and doing their best to impress. The only concern is Coach McDonald will loose her voice before the end of camp.

“I’m gonna have to use the microphone on Wednesday,” said a hoarse, but smiling, Coach McDonald.

On day one, Jennifer McDaniel and Jaclynn Lewis (who hit a camp high 12-of-20 free throws) both earned the Heart award.

On day two, Brycelen “Cha Cha” Richards and Tara “The Terror” Wallis earned the Warrior awards.

All the campers are making plays and there is a definite swishing sound echoing throughout the dome that only gets drowned out when the music gets cranked up.
