After arriving to work this morning, it didn’t take Dollar General employees long to realize that the store had been robbed during the night.

The Italy Police Department did a thorough sweep of the premises and took fingerprints on the inside.

On the outside, the Italy Fire Department was called in and supplied a ladder in order to investigate the roof for evidence of the intrusion.

Dollar General was unable to open as usual at 8:00 a.m. and instead, is keeping the door locked until officers have completed their duties.

By 12:30 p.m., the Dollar General reopened for business.
