Bronze Star Medal awarded to SFC Kerr

The Bronze Star Medal has been awarded to Sergeant First Class Farrin W. Kerr of Italy, Texas for dedication and service to Operation Iraqi Freedom from April 2008 to July 2009.

SFC Kerr is currently assigned to Forward Operating Base Bucca, Iraq and is conducting Detainee Operations and Military Police Duties with Task Force 134, Bagdad, Iraq. SFC Kerr is a Field Artilleryman stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and is a member of Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion 21st Field Artillery (MLRS), 41st Fires Brigade where he serves as a Platoon Sergeant and Operations NCO for the unit. SFC Kerr has been deployed to FOB Bucca for 15 months and will depart the Iraqi theater in July 2009.

During his time at FOB Bucca, Iraq, SFC Kerr also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma.

SFC Kerr is married to Kay Jacinto of Italy, Texas, and they have one daughter, Emma, who is three years old.
